First I would like to say sorry for not blogging as often as we used too. There have been many changes at OPSWA over the last few months – exciting changes.
First and foremost OPSWA is still around the table for the new and upcoming PSW Registry. Secondly we have been asked to sit on the new BSO Project as well – we are happy that PSWs from OPSWA have been hired for this project! Way to go!
We have also welcomed some new corporate members to our family! Essentially yours and Bayshore! Welcome to you as well!
If some of you didn’t know – OPSWA was on CTV’s W5 at the end of March! We were so thrilled to be a part of something so huge! The feedback we have recieved from PSWs across the province and Canada has been outstanding! We were honoured to speak the truth!
It truly has been exciting watching all the memberships fly into OPSWA – What an exciting time to be a Personal Support Worker in Ontario!!!

About Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA)
The Ontario Personal Support Worker Association is the first ever Professional Association for PSWs across our Nation. OPSWA is run by PSWs FOR PSWs and public safety. We understand the difficulties PSWs deal with everyday OPSWA represents thousands of Personal Support Workers across Ontario. Our goal is to make the PSW a profession of choice, not just a stepping stone. I was recently at a company by the name of Medicwear in Brantford.They had asked myself if l had a OPSWA card to get discounts on uniforms.This was the first time l have heard of the OPSWA. I know l did complete the on line PSW registration,the one with our Goverment had asked us to fill out this past summer.So are you new for us newly PSW’s in the field,and how do we sign up.I did fill out with my email address with OPSWA is that the only registration we to fill out.
